Alexei Nikolayevich Gribov (1902-1977) - a popular actor of theater and cinema of the Soviet era, in 1948 was awarded the honorary title of "People's Artist of the USSR."

Alexei Gribov: biography, childhood actor

Alyosha Gribov was born on January 31, 1902 in Moscow's Sokolniki, not far from one of the freight stations of the Moscow-Kazan Railway. His father had a prestigious profession for the time driver, and his mother was a worker in a tobacco factory. The boy's childhood ended early, as his mother died of tuberculosis, when he was only 3 years old, and his younger sister by that time was even less. After some time, my father got married again.

With the appearance of the stepmother in the house, the family gradually began to grow, and besides Alesha and the sister, four more children appeared in the family. The family lived modestly, and they often had to change their place of residence. I must say that the boy's father had a rather high driver's qualification, which allowed him to even once take part in the famous Moscow-Paris motor rally (1913). Alyosha often helped his father take care of the car of his father's employer, completely wash the car and clean it from the clogged dirt, for which the boy always received a coin as a reward.

Alexey's youth

The greatest mutual understanding was with Alesha with his grandfather, Gribov Mikhail Efimovich, who, after the abolition of serfdom, moved from the village to Moscow. Grandfather worked as a machinist on the railway. To his credit, he mastered the complicated technique himself and almost 40 years later he gave the locomotives to driving. After the death of Mikhail Efimovich Alexei inherited the grandfather icon of St. Nicholas. For the rest of his life Mushrooms did not part with her, and even secretly took with him on tour.

The first real performance, which happened to see Gribov, was called "Vanyushin's Children". The boy remained impressed by the performance, after which children's plays of Alyosha and his sister included performances of their own, on the run-invented performances. In 1916, Alexei's father was drafted to the front. The 14-year-old who was left behind for the older man in the family had to get a job at a silk-weaving factory. Work had to be physically difficult, for 12 hours a day laying out on the delivery of raw materials.

Alexei Gribov: actor of the theater

Alexei did not give up the job, even when his father returned from the front. In addition, he also entered the school of working youth at the club in Ordynka. During this period of adolescence, a huge role in the life of the young man was played by one of his teachers - V.V. Baranovsky, thanks to which Alexei just got sick with a theater. The teacher was engaged with him individually, often at home, he was preparing a young man to enter the university. In addition, he helped the guy to change the factory work to a theatrical position. Finished in 1924, the third studio of the Moscow Art Theater, Alexei Gribov, biography Which now has continued on the stage, entered the troupe of the Moscow Art Theater.

Theatrical roles and the filmography of the actor

The play "The Battle of Life" became very significant for Alexei, he played Mr. Kregg in it - his first serious role. Since 1935 the young man began to act in films. Not being handsome by external data, the role of heroes-lovers Alexei Gribov did not play. But, being dense, stocky and broad-leaved, greatly succeeded in the image of a man from the people. Alexei with such diligence gave himself to the scene, that even in the smallest role it was impossible not to notice. The audience fell in love with the artist, the reviewers praised his play.

In addition to small roles, like Epikhodov from the Cherry Orchard, Sobakevich from Dead Souls, Chebutykin from The Three Sisters, Shmagi from Without Guilt, and Osip from The Inspector-General, Alexei Gribov played superbly and such strong personalities, Other people's destinies, like Malyuta Skuratov and Fomu Opisina. In addition, in his 40 years, Alexei became the first actor who embodied the image of Lenin on the Mkhatov scene.

Outstanding craftsmanship

Talented stage expressiveness can be clearly seen in every role played by Alexei Gribov. Films "The Earth", "The Golden Carriage", "Enemies", "Russian People" became highly indicative for the play of an actor, who brilliantly managed to create deep national images. How subtly could he submit something that often goes unnoticed in his life-humor, honesty and spiritual wisdom of a simple Russian person! In his plans, Alexei wanted to move forward, in his dreams, such roles as old Karamazov, King Lear and Aesop settled, which, unfortunately, remained an unsuccessful song for the actor.

Well, the personal life of Alexei Gribov was somehow surprising and unusual. Once on the street, he accidentally met the wife of his former teacher Baranovsky. The mournful and perplexed woman said that her husband had died, and she herself does not know where to go and what to do. Alexey registered a marriage with Elena Vladimirovna, and they began to live together in his 2 rooms of a communal apartment. Whether such an action was dictated by gratitude to the teacher or Alexey really felt sympathy for a woman much older than herself by age, no one would know, most likely, of course, both were present. But all their lives they lived together, he completely took care of the woman.

Nevertheless, there were Alexey's novels on the side, to which Elena Vladimirovna, given their age difference, treated with understanding. From a short communication with the assistant director Isolde, Gribov had a son, who was also named Alyosha. Isolde did everything she could to take her lover out of the family, but the actor, who promised to take care of the teacher's wife until the end of his life, continued to live with her. But he also loved his son, and, as a responsible person, he could take care of him as well. Having headed the cooperative community, Alexei achieved that Isolde and the child receive an apartment.

Unexpected sunset

As an actor Alexei Gribov was very much in demand, his repertoire was full, and at the rate of 11 performances per month he had more than 20 each time. Maybe it affected his health. Always fit, cheerful and never in the least sick, Alexei in a moment during the performance received a stroke, finishing, however, this his final, the play to the end.

The actor lived a few more years after that, practically learning how to speak and walk again. In 1977 he was no more. They buried Alexei Gribov at the Novodevichy Cemetery. He has the title Hero of Socialist Labor and many Stalin Prizes for masterful roles in the films "Officer of the Fleet", "Fruits of Enlightenment", "Kremlin Chimes", "Solo for the hours with the battle" and "Brave People".
