The puppet theater at Baumanskaya is considered one of the oldest in the capital. It exists from the first third of the 20th century. Today's repertoire consists mainly of famous and popular fairy tales for many years.

History

The puppet theater at the Baumanskaya opened its doors in 1929. The basis of it is the director and playwright Viktor Schwemberger. The first troupe consisted of three actors: his wife N. Sazonova and friends - S. Zadonin, I. Zaitsev.

The theater actively toured. The troupe has increased. During the war the theater performed in hospitals and on the front lines. A front brigade was formed, which in September 1941 was lost. In 1942, the head of the theater was temporarily Evgeni Sergeevich Demmeni. At that time he headed a troupe evacuated from the besieged Leningrad. Thus, the Moscow puppeteers joined the Leningrad Marionette Theater (existing in St. Petersburg to this day). Soon the troupe received its first room.

In 1953, the theater was headed by the actor and director Viktor Gromov. He brought up a whole galaxy of unique puppeteers.

In 1962 Boris Ishakovitch Ablynin became the main director. It was he who synthesized puppet and dramatic genres. In 1964, the theater opened an acting studio. The repertoire of that time included performances on the best works of children's literature.

In 1965, the troupe moved to a new building, which "lives" to this day.

In 1980, the theater received the Order of the Badge of Honor.

In the 80s of the 20th century the troupe was headed by the director and teacher Sergei Mironov. In 1986 he was succeeded by Leonid Abramovich Hayit. At that time the repertoire was replenished with unique performances. There were musical performances. The artists began to actively tour Russia and abroad.

In 1991 Vyacheslav Sergeevich Kryuchkov became the artistic director of the theater.

School

The puppet theater at Baumanskaya for children organized a school for young puppeteers. Classes are held on Saturdays. In the younger group, children from 4 to 6 years old are involved.
