The drug "Taufon" (tablets) refers to the pharmacological group of metabolic drugs. The medication has trophic, regenerative, cardiotonic, anti-carcinogenic, retino- and hepatoprotective, as well as hypotensive effect. The active ingredient is taurine.

Medication is the only product of the exchange of amino acids (sulfur-containing) cysteine, methionine and cysteamine. The drug has a membrane-protective and osmoregulatory effect, positively affects the phospholipid structure of membranes. Characterizing the drug "Taufon", the instruction indicates its ability to normalize the processes of exchange of potassium and calcium ions, modulate the release of GABA, prolactin, adrenaline.

The medication improves metabolic processes in the liver, heart, other organs and tissues in the presence of cardiovascular failure. This leads, in turn, to a decrease in stagnant phenomena in the large and small circle, a decrease in intracardiac diastolic pressure, an approximation to the norm of the indices of cardiac contractility.

The drug "Taufon" (the instruction testifies to this) contributes to lowering blood pressure in hypertensive disease. At the same time, the medicament has practically no effect on the level of pressure in cardiovascular insufficiency. When taking calcium antagonists and cardiac glycosides in high doses, Taufon reduces the severity and frequency of adverse events. The drug improves working capacity against a background of heavy loads, stimulates the recovery processes against the background of radiation, traumatic, diabetic and senile cataracts. The drug "Taufon" stabilizes the reparative processes with lesions in the retina of a traumatic and dystrophic nature.

Taking the drug in high dosages (two to three grams per day) with diabetes mellitus helps lower blood sugar levels. In such situations, as a rule, reduce the dose of insulin or another antidiabetic medication.

To the main indications for the use of the drug "Taufon" the instruction refers to cardiovascular insufficiency of various origin (including those caused by cardiac glycosides intoxication).

The drug is prescribed twice a day. It is recommended to take it before meals, in about twenty minutes. The dosage of the drug "Taufon" is recommended by the instruction individually. Usually appoint 0.25-0.5 grams at a time. If necessary and on the recommendation of a specialist, the amount of the drug can be increased to two to three grams or, conversely, reduced to 0.125 grams per reception.

When taking the drug "Taufon" may be noted allergic reaction.

Medication is contraindicated in hypersensitivity.

The drug "Taufon" is also available in the form of drops. This dosage form is intended for topical use in ophthalmology.

Drops for eyes "Taufon" have a stimulating effect on the regenerative processes, contributes to the improvement of metabolism in the tissues of the eye.

The drug "Taufon" (drops) is prescribed for cataracts, injuries of the cornea and mucous membranes, burns (chemical, including).

When cataracts are recommended to dig in two drops in each eye. The frequency of application is no more than four times a day. Duration of application - up to three months.

When glaucoma is recommended to use the drug "Taufon" two drops three times a day. The duration of therapy is up to two months.

Do not inject more than two drops into one eye.

The drug "Taufon" during pregnancy and lactation is allowed for use on the recommendation of a doctor in accordance with the indications. The condition should be supervised by a specialist.
