Saints Peter and Fevronia. The relics of the saints: where are they located, what are they helping?

Today many people ask themselves: where are the relics of Peter and Fevronia? In fact, this amazing story with the solemn transfer of the relics of the holy pious family from the cathedral church of the Annunciation Monastery to the Holy Trinity female monastery ended well on September 19, 1992. With the blessing of the Archbishop of Vladimir and Suzdal, Evlogia for the first time in the past godless seventy years passed the great procession of the Cross, at which a large number of Orthodox people gathered.

Murom: the relics of Peter and Fevronia, the monastery

This event for the city of Murom marked the beginning of the spiritual revival of church life after a long forbidden period. Under the chime of the bells the whole solemn procession moved along the city streets from the Annunciation Monastery to the gates of the Holy Trinity convent, where a special platform for the tomb was erected, to which the relics of St. Peter and Fevronia were subsequently delivered. In the open air near the walls of the monastery Archbishop Eulogius served a festive moleben and delivered a sermon. In a cozy monastery monastery, in the end, the holy spouses Peter and Fevronia found peace. Their relics rest in the right place, since they finally completed their wanderings, which lasted throughout the 20th century.

The city is ancient, the city is glorious

The ancient city of Murom is first mentioned in Nestor the Chronicler in his cultural and historical literary heritage - "The Tale of Bygone Years". In 862, together with other cities after the calling of the Varangians, he obeyed Prince Rurik.

The Holy Trinity Monastery is located in the heart of Murom, in a place called Old Vyshnee Gorodische. A few centuries ago there was the first city Kremlin. And now here you can see the Annunciation and Holy Trinity monasteries. This place in the city is considered one of the most namolennyh, so it's not for nothing that Saint Peter and Fevronia were buried here. The relics of their saints have now become a real treasure not only for the monastery, but for the entire city.

St. Constantine

According to legend, in the 12th century, the faithful prince Constantine became the baptizer of the land of Murom, who began building the first Orthodox churches here. He is mentioned in the "Tale of the Establishment of Christianity in Murom" as a builder of the original Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin.

Iconography of St. Constantine is dedicated to the prince and his two sons - Michael and Fedor, who are always depicted together in a spiritual and prayerful union in the Holy Trinity of the Unified. Thus, the motif of comparison with Her holy couple is traced.

In the Vyshnii hill fortress, Prince Constantine later built the Boris and Gleb temple, which later, more precisely five hundred years later, became the abode of the Holy Trinity.

Taras Tsvetnov

In the 16th century, the city's Kremlin was moved closer to the Oka. From this moment the Vyshnee Gorodische became part of the urban settlement. A little more time passed, and instead of the Borisoglebsk temple there was already a wooden Holy Trinity Church.

In 1642, when the church was already dilapidated, merchant TB Tzvetnov decided to build on this place a beautiful and majestic stone church with all sorts of decorative outfits, with the same name, with forged and gilded crosses representing the masterpieces of forging work of that century.

When the cathedral was ready, Tsvetnov appealed to Bishop Ryazansky and Muromsky with a request for the foundation of a maiden's monastery on this site. For the monastery economy, he even donated his piece of land, located next to the church, and in addition bought out neighborhood. His new abode he gave precious contributions: the cross, the altar gospel, the water-bearing cup, the censer, etc.

Time of oblivion

Under Soviet rule, few people knew about the holy wonderworkers Petra and Fevronia, even in church circles they were not very popular. Great efforts were required to obtain their icon or akathist. But in Murom, Orthodox residents could not but know and do not honor their holy countrymen. When the relics were in the Soviet religious museum, so to speak, "under a bushel," the believers tried to apply themselves by any means to the holy place where the Monks Peter and Fevronia rested. Relics really helped everyone who came with their kind and sincere prayers, because in this God-created world everything is connected by invisible ties.

Today, a celebration dedicated to the memory of the holy family, many guests come to Murom. Peter and Fevronia are saints who complemented each other in every way, and for the believers they became a perfect example of an ideal married couple. Their patronage now, more than ever, is necessary for all of us, the infirm, for the family is the remainder of paradise in our sinful land.

Gold-sewing craftsman nun Fevronia

One of the first goldsmiths of the Murom masters was our holy and righteous princess Fevronia. In her secluded cell she embroidered church airs and veils, such special vestments on the throne. Before appearing before the Lord, she just finished sewing air. But her husband Peter sent her a message that he was dying, and hurried her. She asked him to wait a little, but then came two more news, in the latter he said that he no longer had the strength to wait for her. And then she, sticking a needle in her work, left her and moved to another world on the same day with her pious husband.

After many years, the modern monastery still lives its quiet prayer life. Taking an example from Saint Fevronia, the nuns embroider icons with facial sewing. Mother Superior Tabitha blessed her mothers for the beginning of the revival of this decorative and applied art from the very first days of the opening of the women's monastery. Now the memory of Saints Peter and Fevronia is celebrated in the Orthodox Church twice a year - July 8 and September 19.

Always was rich in history and holy ascetics Moore. The relics of Peter and Fevronia are now in the Holy Trinity convent, and the saints are revered in Russia as patrons of the family and marriage. On the territory of the monastery there is a holy spring and a chapel built in honor of the faithful Peter and Fevronia. In the monastery is also stored Vilensky cross-relics.

A Brief History of Life

The love story of the princes Peter and Fevronia for many centuries already is more of a beautiful legend about love. Even at the time of John the Terrible, on the orders of the Metropolitan of Moscow Makarios, she was first heard in Murom and recorded by the priest Yermolai Pregreshny.

Once upon a time the land of Murom was ruled by Prince Pavel. At one time, the Serpent of the Serpent came to visit his wife for impurity, before him he appeared in the guise of a husband. She immediately told this to her husband, who told her to speak tenderly to the one from whom he was waiting for his death. A humble wife at the next meeting found out that he would be killed by Peter Agricov with his sword. Paul really had Brother Peter, and he told him about the Serpent. Peter was ready to fight with the cunning evil spirits, but here's where to get the Agrikov sword?

Sword

One day Peter prayed in the temple, and then the boy came up to him and pointed to the masonry in the monastery wall, where the cherished sword was hidden. Peter took it and recovered to his brother, and suddenly caught the Serpent in his sorcerous guise near the daughter-in-law. Then he struck him with a sword a death blow from which the unclean and died, but his blood fell on Peter. After that he fell ill, and on his body appeared stinking scabs. No healer took up his treatment. But there was a village witch doctor and a wise virgin from the village of Laskovo, Ryazan land called Fevronia. She promised him healing if he marries her. The prince could not afford to marry a commoner, but Fevronia still managed to arrange everything in such a way that he was forced to take her as his wife.

Lucky reign

When Brother Pavel died, Peter took the throne. But the boyars disliked his wife, they offered her a ransom in order that she would leave the city. Fevronia promised to leave the city, but only with her husband. Peter was faithful to his wife and, without hesitation, decided to go with her. Boyars were very pleased with this, but from that moment they began internecine strife, this struggle for the throne brought them to the killings, which had no end. Then they with great repentance came to bow to Prince Peter and Fevronia, who in their rooks had not yet managed to sail away from the city. They brought them back. After that, the city healed peacefully and peacefully.

Decoupling of history

When the pious couple grew old, Peter and Fevronia decided to take the veil with the names of David and Efrosinya. Being in monastic life, they began to pray to the Lord, that he sent them death in one day, and even prepared a common coffin with a special septum. The saints prayed in one day, but the priests did not become monks in one coffin, fearing the wrath of God. Their deceased bodies were arranged for the night in different churches. When the morning came, everyone saw that the saints in some unusual way were in the same coffin. And they were again disunited, but they were again together, and then it was decided never to separate Peter and Fevronia from the other. The saints went to the Lord in 1228, on June 25 (July 8).

In 1547 St. Peter and Febronia were canonized, and their relics were kept in the Holy Trinity Monastery until a certain time.

Holiday of a camomile

Thanks to their righteous life, everyone now has the opportunity to visit the famous city of Murom. Peter and Fevronia, if you pray to their holy relics and ask for patronage in their family life, they will always help, you just have to do it with deep faith.

Now July 8 is set as a holiday of family and love, in 2008 it was officially approved. The initiator was the wife of then-president Svetlana Medvedeva. The symbol of the holiday was the daisy.
