Former defender of "Spartacus" Kovacs Radoslaw

Starting a career in the Czech Republic

Radoslav Kovac was born on November 27, 1979 in Prague. From the school bench, the future Czech football star started studying in sports schools, by 16 years he changed four schools. The last place of study for the Czech was the club "Sigma", speaking in the championship of the Czech Republic. At first, the young defender was rarely allowed to play the games, but already in 1998 Kovacs Radoslav became one of the key players in the defense of the club. As a result, according to the results of the 2003/04 championship Radoslav won the Cup of the Czech Republic, and a year later he was able to add to the list of personal achievements and victory in the national championship. The success of the young defender forced to show interest in him a number of clubs, among which were Russian.

The game for "Spartacus"

In 2005, the Moscow "Spartak" conducted an extensive selection, and among a number of considered players was Kovac Radoslav. Defender, receiving an offer from the Russian club, did not think long and signed a long-term contract with the "red and white", who had to pay 4 million euros for the player.

But the cost of acquiring a football player began to pay off almost immediately. With the arrival of Kovacs, the defense of "Spartacus" began to play more organized, and the Czech himself, regularly playing all the matches of the championship entirely, soon began to help the team with more goals. On June 18, 2005, Radoslaw's exact shot was victorious in the match against Torpedo, and all in that season on the defender's account was 4 goals and 1 scoring pass. Investments novice helped the club to be in second place in the Russian championship, allowing the "red and white" to return to the Champions League.

The following seasons also developed for the player quite successfully. Kovacs Radoslaw regularly appeared on the field, having participated in 127 meetings of Spartak in four seasons, scoring 11 goals and having scored eight assists. Thanks to this, Muscovites became silver medalists of the Russian championship for three consecutive years, and also reached the Cup final of the country and took part in the Super Cup.

In early 2009, "Spartacus" received an offer from the English "West Ham" on the lease of Kovacs, and, going to England for the remainder of the Premier League season, in the summer of the same year the Czech moved to the London club for almost the same 4 million euros. In the Premier League to fight for a place in the basis of Radoslav was not easy, but the second season for the "hammers" he spent almost entirely on the field. In just two years in the "West Ham" he played in 62 meetings, but because of the departure in 2011, the team from the Premier League, he decided to change the situation.

A new place of work for the Czech defender was the Swiss "Basel". Despite the similar style of play with Moscow's Spartak, Radoslaw Kovac failed to make his way to the base of the team - for the first season he managed to appear 21 times on the field, and a year later - only 6. Dissatisfied with his position, in January 2013 the football player again I started looking for a new club.

Return to the Czech Republic

Accept the star of the Czech national team gladly agreed to "Slovan" from the city of Liberec. As part of the newly born champion of the country Kovacs Radoslav played a year and a half, making a serious contribution to the local success of the team - for 51 meetings he was three times different and helped his partners.

In the summer of 2014, after the completion of the contract, the 35-year-old player was in no hurry to finish his career and gladly accepted the offer of his former club - the Prague "Sparta". In the first season after returning, the defender often appeared on the field, but in 2015 he was more often an experienced insurer in case of injury or fatigue of the players. As a result, in May 2016, Kovacs Radoslaw announced his retirement.

However, despite hanging on the nails of boots, Radoslav left football not far, remaining in the composition of the Prague club. Now Kovacs is in the position of sports director of "Sparta", aspiring already out of the field to help his team to win another championship title in the championship of the Czech Republic.
