Fibroma of the skin: how to get rid of anomaly

Fibroma of the skin is a benign tumor of connective tissue. It can be hard and soft. Solid represent a dense formation that protrudes 1 cm or more above the surface of the skin. This structure is colored light pink, has a smooth surface, is located on a pedicle or a broad base and can manifest in people of different ages on any part of the skin.

Soft skin fibroids can be placed in various places. Most often this neoplasm is observed in the armpits, in the chest area, inguinal folds. This tumor, as a rule, appears in women of mature age. In appearance, the soft fibroma resembles a wrinkled pouch measuring up to 1 cm. It has a color from a similar skin to a dark brown one. In some cases, the formations have the form of elongated papules, sometimes they are filamentary or reach a giant size - up to 20 cm.

Although the etiology of these structures has not been fully explored, according to research, it is possible to clearly trace the hereditary predisposition to the formation of fibroids. Important triggers are injuries or inflammatory processes.

The main causes of fibromas are constant friction in places of contact of clothing or folds of the skin. Some experts believe that the formation appears due to aging of the skin.

Disorders in the endocrine system can also contribute to the formation of fibroids. They often appear in pregnant women due to increased levels of progesterone and estrogen, as well as diabetics and acromegaly.

Some scientists believe that skin fibrosis is associated with the ingestion of papillomavirus infection.

As for the symptomatology, the fibroma of the skin does not cause any special concerns, the purely aesthetic problem comes to the fore. Frequent irritation of education can lead to its growth, and there is also a risk of injury. In case of damage, bleeding and minor pain may occur.

As a residual phenomenon, a small scar may appear on the site of the localization of education. Removed fibroma rarely recur.
