Darginsky weddings: signs and customs.

The wedding is a significant date in the life of every person, it symbolizes the beginning of the birth of a new family. In every culture, the wedding is celebrated in different ways, however, it has always been a symbol of love, happiness and joy. Darginsky weddings are no exception, they are always attended by a large number of relatives, friends and just good friends.

Inviting a large number of guests is now "not fashionable," but such a tradition is still common among residents of Dagestan, who, in honor of the wedding, arrange huge feasts. In this country, almost all such celebrations are accompanied by the execution of several adats. Nevertheless, each village has its own traditions and an understanding of what this "great" day should be like. At present, two main types of weddings are held in Dagestan.

The first kind is an ordinary wedding with a generous meal, a large number of guests, music, dances and a toastmaster.

The second kind is a Muslim wedding, which is characterized by the fact that it is conducted according to strict rules. For example, at such a celebration it is not customary to treat guests to alcoholic beverages (even wine is not allowed). Muslim weddings pass quietly to the quiet music of Nashid.

The main stage is matchmaking, at first the guy is wooing the girl. A similar process occurs through the older man from the groom's family, he is sent to the bride's relatives, so that he or she can arrange for their marriage.

The wedding in Dagestan is not always played immediately after the engagement of the young, it may even be postponed for several months until they are convinced that the young fit each other. During this time, the bride and groom can visit each other and communicate.

Virtually all Darginsky weddings celebrate in autumn, they are considered to be a peculiar tradition. Also, the marriage is given permission only when the groom builds or buys a house in which his future wife will lead.

Dargin's weddings are a bit different from the usual ones, especially with their generosity. It's no secret that on a solemn day the groom should come to his bride with gifts, including: gold jewelry, shoes, chest with clothes and other things. In addition, the groom still have to fork out for the bride's ransom to be able to pick it up. Usually, money is given to either the brother or the sister of the bride. Parents in turn pretend that they do not want to give their daughter and persuade the groom not to take her from them.

The question is "where to play a wedding" is not discussed here, because in Dagestan, there are always big feasts, and most often in the groom's house. In general, the celebration lasts for about a week, and most importantly, every ritual is held with special precision.

In the house of the groom the bride comes with a head covered, and at her entrance in the house a sheep is slaughtered, and his blood is shed at her feet. Such a ritual is a guardian, his task is to protect the bride from the evil eye. Then the bride is taken to her fiance's room, where she must obediently wait among her dowry. And for the guests of the celebration the festival continues - they sing, dance and congratulate each other.

Darginsky weddings have one more difference, for example, when the bride and groom meet at night at the bedroom door, the witnesses watch. As soon as their meeting is over, they will take out of the room a "sign of virginity." This event meets with no less joy than the engagement itself. Mutual congratulations, gun shots and cheers - such signs of happiness symbolize that the "young" finally become a husband and wife.

Signs and superstitions. Many people come to the wedding in Dagestan, and it is believed that the more relatives are invited, the happier will be the future husband and wife. One of the main signs of the wedding is the belief: the first one who invited the bride to dance, should shower it with gold, and the more gold there is, the happier she will be in marriage.
